Clear, Legible Marking on Hot or Cold Metals

Pannier’s pneumatic hammers are heavy duty marking systems designed for stamping heat or grade numbers on steel billets, slabs, and castings. Easily installed and operated, Pannier pneumatic hammers are built to withstand years of continuous use in mill environments.

Hammers can be mounted in various ways – sling mounted for mobility, track mounted for sliding the unit into stamping position, or vertically mounted for automatic stamping actuation. Hammers are actuated by pressing the head into the material, at which time the pneumatic action of the hammer makes the mark.

Each model is available with either a standard marking head for messages that don’t change often or a Quick Change type holder for fast and easy message changing. A floating anvil behind the type ensures legible stamping even on irregular surfaces. Type heads and holders accommodate up to three lines of type for marking information such as heat, strand, and grade numbers in one stroke.
